Steve Knight, known for his dynamic fusion of reggae and hip-hop, has released an inspiring anthem titled "Most High," featuring Indian rappers Dee MC and Smokey The Ghost from Bangalore. The track, which radiates themes of self-love, unity, and positivity, showcases the power of cross-cultural collaboration and the universal language of music.

When discussing the inspiration behind "Most High," Steve shares that the song was born in a moment of pure creativity. In the studio with his friend JR Holliday, the song seemed to flow effortlessly. "Sometimes songs just come through," he reflects. "Most High just channeled through us. Super grateful it did, and we all tried to stay true to that original inspirational moment." This sense of authenticity is felt throughout the track, from its uplifting lyrics to its vibrant energy.

The collaboration itself was seamless. Steve, Dee MC, and Smokey The Ghost found a natural rhythm working together, despite their different backgrounds. "The process was easy," Steve explains. "Working with incredible rappers like Smokey and Dee made everything flow. I sent the track, and they laid their verses down and sent it back in no time." The result is a track that blends genres effortlessly, bringing together distinct cultural and musical elements.

"Most High" combines reggae and hip-hop, two genres with rich cultural histories. For Steve, fusing these sounds is second nature. "During the Flipsyde days, we were always bending styles, so it’s a pretty natural state for me to work from." The fusion adds depth to the song's message, reinforcing the themes of love and unity that reggae legends like Bob Marley championed. "Bob Marley was a huge influence and helped shape my life in so many ways," Steve notes. "I love when he says, 'Stand for something or fall for anything.' Those words still guide me in both music and life."

At its core, "Most High" is more than just a song—it's a statement about the power of music to bridge cultural divides. "Many have said music is the universal language, and the older I get, the more it rings true," Steve shares. "One of my hopes for my music was to build bridges of understanding through collaborations across the globe. We need that more than ever in these polarizing times." With "Most High," Steve Knight, Dee MC, and Smokey The Ghost deliver a powerful reminder that, through music, we can come together as one family, united in love and understanding.
